e-guernica (the electronic bombing of our culture)

Picasso said while painting the original on which I base my sketch: “My whole life as an artist has been nothing more than a continuous struggle against reaction and the death of art.”

  1. Nice job, Henry! I like it a lot.

So I guess you got to the Espada reading, yes? I looked for you, and when I went up to get my book signed, Mr. Espada said you were just there! (I told him that you were the one to turn me on to his poetry). I am so sorry I missed you! I thought that Espada was fantastic! I love the way he is so expressive and moves his body with the poem – it was very like music. So what did you think of the other poets? I liked some of the poems that Pinsky read, especially Shirt, which I had not heard before. It was very powerful, particularly when hearing it read. I didn’t expect to like him as much as I did. 2. very cool ! just wondering in the real one , the person who’s holding the baby is a woman ! why did u replace it with a man in a suit ?

    1. Thank you for visiting my site. To answer your question, the “man in the suit” is supposed to represent a business man …. the “E” in my title, “E-guernica” is supposed to represent electronic media … the bombing of Americans (and others to come) by electronic reality. The “business man” as opposed to Picasso’s village woman. Hope that explains it. Please stop by again.
